Nate Scheck

Nate Scheck has been running youth sports programming for 15 years, coaching girls basketball for the last 10. A native of Deerfield, Nate was a three-year Varsity basketball and football and track athlete at DHS. Also, a licensed Elementary Education teacher formerly teaching 3rd Grade at Solomon Schechter School in Northbrook. He is passionate about strengthening girls athletics in the community and allowing the space for all female athletes to find their way into sport. He believes in hard work, challenging his athletes, and building strong team cultures filled with fun and positivity. Pumped for what’s to come. Go Warriors!

Pollyanna Kimbrough

Coach Pollyanna brings a wealth of experience at the highest levels of the game. A former WNBA player, she competed for the Cleveland Rockers, Miami Sol, and Houston Comets, after a standout college career at the University of Michigan, where she graduated as the program’s all-time leading rebounder (928), ranked second all-time in scoring (1,558 points), and earned All-Big Ten honors — cementing her place as one of the Wolverines’ all-time greats.

Her professional career spanned both the WNBA and overseas, making her one of the most accomplished players to ever step onto the court in Lake County.

Today, Coach Pollyanna channels that elite background into developing the next generation of athletes at Deerfield High School as an assistant coach, co-director of teams for Deerfield Feeder, and Take Over Basketball. She combines pro-level knowledge, player development expertise, and a passion for mentorship, giving our girls a model of what’s possible through hard work and determination. As Director of Teams, she assists in overseeing team operations, coach mentoring, player development structure, and program alignment across all age groups.

From the biggest stages of women’s basketball to the Deerfield and Take Over family, Coach Pollyanna is here to inspire, teach, and push our players to greatness.

Daniel Golub

Daniel Golub played basketball at Deerfield High School where he was a 3x team captain & varsity starter, leading his team to a regional championship. He had a successful collegiate career at Pratt Institute (NCAA D3), starting 49/49 games, and recording 500 points, 310 rebounds, & 125 assists in just 2 seasons. Daniel signed a contract with a professional team in Tel Aviv, Israel and had a strong rookie season, recording 16pts, 8rebs, 4asts, 2stls, 1blk, and a Win in his rookie debut. A month later, after the season was cut short due to global conflict, Daniel went to Athens, Greece for his next opportunity, but returned to Chicago after deciding his true passion was to give back to youth basketball players. He has been coaching on and off since 2017, with it being his full time career as of 2023. He now coaches girls feeder and has his own travel program, DG Elite, which is based in the Chicago suburbs. He can’t wait to work with your daughter this 2026-27 feeder season!
